As we look forward to 2008 I would ask our congregation to keep our youth in their prayers. Our youth face so many challenges today we need to be in constant prayer for their safety and success in life. True success for them will only come from following Jesus. We as adults need to be positive role models for the young men and women we are around. A great way for us to do this is through following Jesus Christ, not only in our worship, but also in our actions. We as adults must make Jesus Christ the priority of our life. I pray that we at Beck’s Reformed Church strive to be a positive role model for our youth as well as our community.
Here are some of the highlights for the past month concerning our youth:
-Congratulations to our swim team on their success. Special congratulations to Jordon Regan, Clay Vickers, Lindsay Yarbrough, Ryne Holmes, and Elizabeth Glover on their recent victories.
-Congratulations to Anna Beck and Clay Yarbrough on being named Wendy’s High School Heisman Trophy winners.
This award is given to students during their senior year based on academic excellence, athletic excellence and community/school involvement. Thanks to both of these fine students for their hard work.
-Thanks to the young men and women from our church who are serving our country through the military services.
Again, thanks for your continued support and prayers as I grow in my ministry here at Beck’s. Please let me know if you have suggestions concerning our youth or would like a student recognized for their achievements in this newsletter.
In Christ, Mark Rachels
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and Redeemer.” (Psalms 19:14)
